The New Sideline

Microsoft tablet used by coaches in the NFL on the sideline has changed the game. No longer do players have to see two dimensional plays off of a piece of paper, but now they are able to view the upcoming play in-depth from a variety of different views. The tablet also opens up the ability to keep track of individual players, play-to-play unlike ever before. They also have the ability to show video of a play in practice or a game to go over with a player what they might need to fix. With the tablet now on the Sideline, everything is quicker and more efficient for the coaches and players.

Not only is the tablet useful on the sideline, but it can also be used to keep up with recruiting with the iScoutPad app. Coaches are  now capable of doing more and more things at a time to better his team which is having a huge impact on the game today.

  1. It is amazing how far technology has come. This will be helpful to coaches and players allowing them to spot mistakes and come up with adjustments in a speedy fashion. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

  2. I think this will impact the game making it more competitive. Also, I think it will effect how coaches challenge a play. I think having this tablet on the sidelines could allow coaches to look at previous plays quickly to see if they want to challenge it.

  3. I believe this is a great advancement for the game and it amazes me what technology has come to. This helps the players a lot more then just pictures of the coverage the defense is playing or the formation the defense is in. You can actually see the play and watch the play evolve.

  4. As a coach for high school football, we actually use this software. Not only is it beneficial to us but it is also economically beneficial for the school. This software allows us to see plays throughout the whole game, All we do is take our hudl videos and add them to our tablets in a split of a second. Great software!
